Ear Piercings
-
Lobes
-Lobes can take a year or longer to completely heal.
-Lobes can be switched with a different style of jewelry 6 months after healing.
-Lobes are priced as the pair for the piercing fee ($40) whether you get one side or both!
-
Helix
-Helix piercings can take 12-18+ months to heal.
-We recommend studs for initial piercings on helixs to eliminate movement, however, this doesn’t mean we haven’t seen folks heal with rings. It is dependant on your piercing experience with cartilage piercings.
-You’ll want to avoid sleeping on the piercing for a minumum of 6-9 months.
-
Tragus
-Tragus piercings take a minimum of 12 months to heal completely.
-We start with a stud in these piercings, we will not use a ring to begin with.
-If you use a stethescope or use in-ear headphones you’ll need to take extra caution during the heal time of these piercings.
-
Daith
-Daith piercings are more commonly referred to “The migraine” piercing. Although we have no medical studies to support the claim.
-These piercings take anywhere from 12-18+ months to heal. While you can change the jewelry around the 6+ month mark.
-These can also be difficult to use in-ear headphones or a stethoscope with.
-We do not clamp the ear in anyway to find pressure points. We are not trained accupuncturists and we’d perfer to let them do their job.
-
Forward Helix
-Forward helix piercings take around 12 months to heal. You can change the jewelry with something compatible within a few months.
-Downsizes for this piercing are incredibly important! We wil pierce you with a longer bar that will acommodate for swelling and after a few months you will need to come in to shorten the post or you can potentially change the angle of your piercing.
-While we are all for the look of a triple forward helix. Ask yourself, “Am I ready to not sleep on this ear for the foreseeable future?” If the answer to that is no, we recommend piercing one or two in the begininng and add the third one in the future.
-
Rook
-Rook piercings take 12 months or longer to heal completely. Although you can change the jewelry after about 9 months.
-Depending on anatomy you can start with a fixed or captive bead ring (pictured) or a curved barbell.
-
Flat
-Flat piercings take 12 months or longer to heal, although you can change the top at anytime with a compatible top.
-Flat piercings are similar to helix piercings, but the difference is you cannot change to a ring in the future.
-Downsizing your posts are critically important to this piercing, if you sleep on this piercing and don’t downsize, you can change the angle.
-
Faux Rook
-Faux rooks take 12 months to heal completely, while you can change the top out with a compatible piece at any time.
-Instead of going vertically through the shelf in your ear, a faux rook is going horizontal and sits in the small divot near your forward helix.
-
Conch
-Conch piercings take 12 months to heal. You start with a stud initially in this piercing, then after a minimum of a year, you can switch to a fitted ring.
-Not every conch is built to have a snug fitting ring, some ears will require a little more room and have small gaps in the ring.
-Before getting a conch piercing, if you wear glasses, take note of how the temples of your glasses sit on your ears and how far they come down. Trust us, it matters.
-
Snug/ Anti-Tragus
-Snug and Anti-Tragus piercings take a minimum of 24 months (2 years, yes, we know) This is one of the hardest ear piercings you can get, it is a very difficult heal.
-To switch to a fitted ring, you’ll wait until the piercing is completely healed. (it’s cute and worth it in the end)
-With an anatomy consult, we could perform a faux snug. Where we place a conch and a helix on the same ear and it gives the illusion of a snug.
-
Industrial
-Industrial piercings take a minimum of 12 months to heal
-It is two piercings that are connected with a single bar.
-Industrials are anatomy dependent, but if we are unable to offer that piercing we can recommend other options.
-
Helix Fold
-These piercings are entirely anatomy dependent. These are meant for the fold of a helix.
-These take a minimum of 18 months to heal, although you can change the top at anytime with something compatible.
